Just looking for a little advice. My 14 month old son has always been a FABULOUS eater. He usually eats anything I give him. But the last 2 weeks or so, it's changed. He is suddenly pushing certain foods away and refusing ALL vegetable whatsoever. Is this typical toddler behavior?? As a heavier mom, I am very conscious of what I feed my son. I don't want him to have the same struggles as me so I offer him healthy foods instead of junk! Of course he gets the occasional treat--but his nutrition is very important to me. I'm worried that he is not getting enough veggies in his diet. I have been sneaking some veggies in using my Deceptively Delicious recipes....and I let him have one serving of V8 Fusion juice a day. Is this all I can do? Every lunch and dinner I offer him a vegetable. He will eat a few SMALL, SMALL bites and then he is done. Is this enough?? Any other tricks any moms could offer me? Any nutrition experts out there that can calm my fears that my son isn't not getting enough nutrients?
There's a book out there on how to disguise veggies into food so kids don't know they're there. I can't remember the name of it, but I do remember the lady used a blender to liquify butternut squash. She mixed it in with the cheese for mac and cheese. Said her kids loved it!
I found the book

IT's normal kid behavior. My son is 21 months old and has gone thru those stages before too. He used to practically ONLY eat meat, ribs, chicken, you name it. Now, he wont even touch meat and will only eat veggies. For a while he only wanted potatoes. Kids know what their body needs and they crave it, or dont want it. (lol, aside from candy of course!!). I also do not give my son hardly any junk food and work hard at giving him variety. Just keep offering it, but dont make a big deal out of it. He'll eat them when he's ready to again. He is still young and doesnt need as much as we think they do.
