try to limit juice to one or two cups a day, one milk in the morning and once at night, at least 4 or 5 cups of water.

make sure ur juice is 100% juice.

*Motts make a juice called Motts for Tots which is watered down 100% juice with vitamins, comes in several flavors, i only buy that.*

make sure no foods have fake sugar like sucralose or aspartame.

make sure no foods contain too much sodium per serving or high fructose corn syrup!

By 18 months old a child can eat what you eat. If you like spicy food though you need to make sure hers isn't as spicy as yours. All you need to do is make sure that you cut up her food in small bites, especially meat. Crunchy veggies are hard to eat and need to be partially cooked. (carrots etc.) A cup of whole milk at each meal is sufficient with water, milk and juices through out the day. I'm sure you can google the milk requirements. Getting her started on a healthy diet now is very important. Introduce her to all kinds of various foods and flavors. Many flavors are acquired so you might need to try something several times before she likes it. Good luck!

breakfast--oatmeal & yogurt

Snack--dried fruit or fresh fruit

Lunch--whole wheat pasta & a veggie/chicken & rice & veggie/turkey sandwich

snack--cheerios/crackers/fruit

dinner--i love making them quesidillas (i use whole wheat tortillas and i change up what goes in them ex:

--broccoli puree & cheese

--sweet potatoe puree & lean turkey

--cheese & chicken

--you can put almost anything in them and it gives them a nice finger food)

hope i helped you!! idon't suggest juices..too sugary!! give milk or water with every meal!!

oh and i microwave the quesidilla so that i don't have to use butter or anything like that in the pan!!

edit--- www.wholesomebabyfood.com is a wonderful website that helps you make your own baby food, gives nutrients for each food, gives you recipes for each food, i just love this website...i use it ALL the time!!!

Hi, well where can I start. I have a 23 month old who luckily eats most things.

For breakfasts I usually give him porridge, sometimes I put some pureed apple or apricot in it, also he has lots of fruit so bananas, anything that he likes really. Most cereals are good and obviously they're mixed with milk so that's good for calcium.

I try to encourage the five portions of fruit and veg a day so even in between meals I give both my children fruit flakes, or raisins, things like that. I buy yoghurt coated raisins as a treat for my boys, they think it tastes like chocolate but obviously it's not.

Up until babies are one they should have a pint of milk a day, however I dont think there is any hard and fast rule as to how much they should or shouldn't have. Up until the age of about 3 they should still be on full fat milk, creams, cheeses etc. My little boy still has about 3 bottles of milk a day plus his 3 meals, he's not overweight and is very healthy.

I think the trick is to vary things as much as possible and introduce a variety of things to prevent fussy eating.

I would highly recommend investing in an Annabel Karmel kids recipe book. I've always used her recipes for both my children, they are varied and fun and easy to make. You'll find recipes online too at www.annabelkarmel.com, this is great and full of ideas. Hope this helps
