Toddler and baby food ideas?

I have a 2 yr old daughter and a 6 month old son and need some new recipe ideas that both can eat!

My eldest eats anything but my youngest is on jars and babyrice at the mo but only at dinner time and I want to start putting him onto our food (blended of course) but i am finding it really hard to come up with new ideas and were all getting bored of the ones we have now.

Would be very grateful if anyone could give me some healthy options and how to make and ingredients for food that is suitable for both to eat.

Thanks!

By the way were not vegetarians so we do eat meat.

Heres a good site with some useful articles on toddlers. http://my-toddler.com

Apple Puree: For Baby and Family

Apples are a great first food because of their sweetness and versatility. Besides being for baby, this puree can be used in all kinds of recipes. Use it to sweeten baked goods, as a topping for pancakes, or even to dress up grilled meats.

Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, and Fuji apples have the least amount of acid, and thus are the most tolerable for babies. You can peel apples before or after cooking. Cooking with skins on allows the fruit to retain more nutrients.

Makes four 1/2-cup servings

6 medium Red Delicious apples, washed, quartered, and cored just before cooking

Steamer method:

Place prepared apples in steamer basket set in a pot filled with 1 to 2 inches of lightly boiling water. Do not let water touch fruit. Cover tightly for best nutrient retention and steam for 10 to 12 minutes or until apples are tender. Apples should pierce easily with a toothpick. Set apples and cooking liquid aside to cool.

Scrape apples to remove skin and puree in a food processor with a steel blade. Add tablespoons of reserved cooking liquid to puree to make smoother and adjust consistency.

Microwave method:

Place prepared apple quarters in microwave-safe dish. Add 1/4 cup water and cover tightly, allowing a corner to vent. Microwave on high for 3 minutes and stir. Re-cover and cook for 3 to 6 minutes or until tender. Check for doneness, cool, and proceed with recipe above.

my 1 yr old cousin loves chicken soup, either from a can or homemade. he also loves ravioli, spaghetti, and any type of pasta. chicken can be dry, but it depends on the kid and the way you make it. my cousin likes chicken nuggets, though. you could also put a roast on the crockpot and make that up with some mashed potatoes. my cousin will eat almost everything we eat. so, if you're having something one night for dinner, i'm sure your kids would be able to eat it.

Mashed rice and soft chicken.

Yams and Squash have always been my favorite and still arm. My mum also used to give me raspberries in very small amounts but not until I was 2. Another big hit in our family is cucumbers. For the 6 month old peel them before you blend it. Bananas are good too
